In the winter of 2012, in my typical routine of spending the first few days following an election barricaded in a room with my paints, I decided to depict one of the last moments of David Tennant’s brilliant run as the Tenth Doctor.

Was I more keen on this piece because after that election cycle I related with the exhaustion, frustration, and anger seen here in his final episode? Yeah, probably.
